GED® Test Preparation Program

The GED® Test Preparation Program provides students with continuous test preparation and assessment to help successfully pass the GED® battery of tests. The class provides an interactive, self-paced learning environment in an instructional lab setting. Students will receive individually designed lessons. Students who complete the program, have a CASAS
pre- and post-test, and at least 40 hours of instruction will qualify for a discount of their official test fees at EGACE. If you cannot attend class, consider enrolling into GED
® Test Preparation Distance Learning.

Click here for more information on Distance Learning.

GED® Testing

Elk Grove Adult and Community Education (EGACE) is an authorized GED® testing center.  The GED® credential is deemed by California law to be the equivalent of a high school diploma for the purposes of most employment and is recognized nationally. Students passing the exam will receive a credential from the California Department of Education (CDE).  Special accommodations are available for testers with certain physical or learning disabilities and must be requested well in advance of testing. Testers must pre-register, be at least 18 years of age and have a valid picture identification with proof of California residency.

Students are expected to attend every class session. There are no excused absences. Hours missed because of illness, tardiness, etc. are all considered absences. Please consult the class syllabus for specific information on attendance policy for your class.

Adult education requires a minimum amount of hours that students are expected to complete assignments while in class and at home. Please see the class syllabus for specific pacing requirement.
